Dubai Maritime Authority signs an Agreement with Al Masaood Group for Providing Marine Crafts’ Registration Services

The Dubai Maritime Authority of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation has signed an agreement with MTM, a marine company affiliated to Al Masaood Group, to facilitate procedures for providing marine craft registration services to customers. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Dr. Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Dubai Maritime Authority, on behalf of the Dubai Maritime Authority, and on behalf of MTM Maritime Company, Mr. Basem Wasaifi, General Manager of the company. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in establishing a unified window through which the process of registering and licensing marine craft in the Emirate of Dubai will be carried out in order to enhance joint work in this field, as the customer will be able to purchase and register marine craft from the various outlets of the MTM marine company and register them through the Dubai Maritime Authority electronic system and within a legal framework governed by the concluded agreement. Sheikh Saeed explained that, in accordance with the vision and strategy of the Dubai Maritime Authority regarding intensifying efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with the private sector, the signing of the agreement with MTM, a marine company affiliated to the Al Masaood Group, contributes to achieving government directives regarding facilitating procedures for customers, in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide the best experience for every customer with the Dubai government. The ED of the Maritime Authority explained that the registration and licensing of marine craft takes place after verifying that they meet the approved technical specifications in order to ensure their compliance with the application of standards, requirements and regulations to ensure the safety of marine craft users, in addition to verifying the application of environmental requirements to preserve the safety of natural resources. Sheikh Saeed stressed the Authority's keenness to work closely with partners to achieve the Authority's directives regarding regulating the licensing of marine craft operating in Dubai by strengthening means of cooperation between all concerned parties and by supporting all required capabilities and mechanisms. For his part, Bassem Wasaifi, General Manager of MTM Marine, confirmed that the agreement aims to enhance joint and fruitful cooperation with the Dubai Maritime Authority regarding marine craft registration and licensing services, adding that Al Masaood Group is looking forward to improving and simplifying procedures with regard to this new strategic partnership for the benefit of the satisfaction and happiness of customers.
